Selangor – redONE Mobile, a leading Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) in Southeast Asia, continues to intensify its efforts towards corporate social responsibility (CSR) by implementing various initiatives carried out throughout Ramadan aimed at strengthening community ties and helping communities in need.
Through redONE Mobile’s charity arm, the redONE Foundation, the Colours of Ramadan program has been held as an annual tradition in conjunction with the arrival of Ramadan to support communities in need through food distribution, financial assistance and community events. This year, the program saw greater community involvement with volunteers from the redONE Foundation and community members from Surau Haji Taib at Kampung Sungai Gulang-Gulang, Tanjung Karang, gathering early as 10 am to cook bubur lambuk as a breaking fast meal for the community there. Adding to the lively atmosphere, popular social media influencer, Uncle Tokok, whose real name is Harif Anas Haikal actively participated in the preparations throughout the day.
Additionally, redONE Foundation donated RM2,000 to Surau Haji Taib to support its religious and community activities. Attendees also received duit raya and gifts, adding to the festive spirit.
As part of redONE Mobile’s commitment to CSR, the company will also launch an electronic waste (e-Waste) recycling campaign, Recycle & Reconnect, in April 2025 in collaboration with ERTH (Electronic Recycling Through Heroes). Special recycling bins will be placed at selected redONE Mobile stores in Klang Valley, Johor Bahru, and Penang, allowing the public to drop off old mobile phones, chargers, and other unused or damaged electronic devices. Proceeds from the recycling initiative will be donated to Surau Haji Taib. This campaign aims to promote responsible e-Waste disposal while raising awareness about environmental sustainability.
Furthermore, redONE Mobile has partnered with six social media influencers, including Uncle Tokok, Donna Muslim, Abang Bahulu, Era Suka Makan, Akak Strawberry Kajang, and Ain Ayam Cheese Jebok, for the redINFAQ campaign. Every Wednesday throughout Ramadan, 50 food packs will be distributed to those in need in Ampang, Kajang, Shah Alam, Kelantan, and Sabah. The participating influencers will also support small businesses at Ramadan bazaars by promoting their stalls through engaging food reviews on their highly followed social media platforms. The redINFAQ initiative not only provides immediate food assistance but also helps boost visibility and sales for local vendors.
Ameen Amaendran, Chief Executive Officer of redONE Mobile, shared, “Ramadan is not just about religious observance; it is also a time for compassion and strengthening our bonds with the community. Through initiatives like Colours of Ramadan, redINFAQ, and Ronda Bazaar Ramadan, we aim to provide meaningful support to those in need, including small business owners who are the backbone of the local economy. We are grateful for the collaboration with influencers who have helped make these initiatives successful. We believe that with this spirit of togetherness, even small efforts can create significant and lasting impacts on the communities involved.”
To further extend support for small business owners, the redONE Mobile team has also launched the Ronda Bazaar Ramadan initiative, visiting selected bazaars nationwide including Selangor, Penang, Kelantan, Sabah, and Sarawak. This initiative seeks to boost the visibility of local business and draw more visitors to the bazaars at these locations.
